SOME LESSONS LEARNT FROM ART MAKING

(which always applies to life #artaslifeasart)

>>> The process is as much a reward as the final destination.

In fact, if you can find joy in the process regardless of outcome, you never really ‘suffer’ for your art.

>>> It’s all about perspective.

With a tweak of an angle, a flick of the wrist, a tiny smudge or a drop more of pink... can change the whole tone & feel of the whole thing.

Same with life.

Same with how you see your art.

Choose to see the ‘mistakes’ as lessons you had to make so you GET to either not do it again...or find a way to make it more to your liking.

Again, same with life.

This is more than seeing the silver lining, and more about seeing the beauty in the mess.

It’s about how much richer that you’re weaving so much depth into the tapestry you get to call your life.

>>> Discipline brings freedom.

Discipline is all about choosing your art over your human weaknesses. Choosing your calling over your fear.

Choosing who you are BECOMING (& always meant to be) over who you were under all those layers of baggage and fears.

And discipline makes it easier to form habits, so then it’s WAY less effort.

Then flow comes...because it becomes part of who you are... then you are FREE!

Free to make regardless of motivation

Free to market your art regardless of rejection

Free to keep making regardless of that last horrible painting you just did

>>> You don’t choose the art you make, you may choose your attitude, your aspirations & your actions.

But the true art you are called to make?

It chooses you.

If you embrace it, stay curious, be open and commit to deepening your relationship to it?

You’ll find your voice.

You’ll find your message.

You’ll find the work that was meant FOR you

>>> Your job as an artist is to make sure the art calling you get brought to life.

Which means it’s your job to ensure you have the resources needed to do that. Whether it’s getting

enough sleep

learning marketing & sales to get money for supplies or

diving deep into your soul to connect to the heart & soul of the art AND learning how to articulate that?

If you can see that it’s your role as the artist to do this?

You can find it easier to overcome your fears & excuses around

selling your art,

procrastinating,

learning new skills or

just scheduling in self-care with other roles in your life.

>>> Community & Connection matters.

Relationships will be the heart of your success. To finding your answers or opening of doors.

It will be the seed for your blossoming. Both relationships with your family & friends and clients & colleagues AND with your creativity & your spirituality.

It will be the anchor to hold you amongst the chaos.

Find your people who are willing to see the you beyond your present. Beyond your fears and limits.

Your fellow Muses who will lift you up. (Join MINDFUL MUSES to find your community of creatives like you desiring connection with our inner Muses!)

They will inspire you to keep going.

They have been where you wish to go.

They will cheer you on even as you ‘surpass’ them.

Comment below the lesson you resonate with most! And emoji me all the hearts especially since you’re here, we are each other’s people.
