Another week, another lockdown -- it is both a blessing & a challenge

As I immerse into my themes & exploration of this new collection -- I'm asking the question around what it means to "fill with gold"

The spark that ignited this new collection is on the theme of " Kintsugi / Kintsukuroi" meaning 'golden repair' where the broken pieces of ceramics is mended & 'filled with gold' -- where the broken is celebrated and embraced

At the risk of being all wanky & cliche -- I've been feeling these themes acutely during Melbourne's 4th strick lockdown this past week! Like I do when I'm in the process of unravelling a theme

On the one hand, this time round, I'm embracing the change and allowing mysefl GIANT serves of grace.

I'm enjoying NOT having a morning rush for school drop offs and lunchbox making and sock finding chaos of our usual mornings.

On the other hand -- gosh my friends, I KNOW what it means to feel TRAPPED and suffering all the emotional, physically & mental challenges of restriction, fear & chaos.

Thrown on top of postponed birthday parties, swimming lessons & other activities that are much loved by my girls AND SO LOVED for our mental & joyful health

So as I try to squeeze some painting inbetween all the homeschooling & creative negotiations to reduce screen times --- I'm asking the question of what it means to embrace the challenges.

How do I hold the 'mess' & the 'broken' and not only repair them but to REPAIR WITH GOLD?

What does it mean to lean into 'celebration' of something that is 'broken' or a mess?

A 3 brushes in one hand kind of painting session. Sneak peek at a big one for this new collection

Also, I'm struggling with a name for this collection.

Something that talks about the ideas of golden repair, celebrating the mess & brokenness... embracing the mistakes or experience or just life in general!

Please help me think of a name!

In between all of that + entertaining 2 kids -- I've also been drawing & designing branding for clients. It all adds to my creative process. I do love working with clients & their intentions.

I hope I never take for granted the honor & vulnerability my clients trust me with in commissioning a Soulful Sigil for their goals & intentions. There's more info below if you're feeling the nudge to have a SOULFUL SIGIL created for you

It's a new month & a new season (I do love scarves & boot season but the cold mornings? not so much) -- it's the perfect time to set your mindful intentions and goals for the upcoming season.

What are you calling into your life?

What do you want to keep maintaining from the last season?

What do you want to release?

How will you stay connected & mindful of those goals?

How will you ensure you make time & give attention to your joy & creative flow this season?

Until next time,

x Brenda
