💖 Sometimes I wonder...

Maybe my superpower is being able to create amongst the chaos & mess.

Of life. Of lockdown. Of the world.

To create without crystal clarity. Always a lingering fog.

Maybe it’s being able to focus on the passion & process. While defiantly ignoring & intentionally procrastinating on chores #artcomesfirst

While simultaneously wishing for a daily cleaner because cluttered space = cluttered mind.

Maybe it’s being able to compartmentalise & get into my quiet space to just commune with Spirit & my Muse and just dream of my next creation — while being interrupted every 2 minutes.

While feeling helpless in the face of global tragedy & grieving.

Maybe it’s my designer background. To go beyond the joy of creating & balance it with WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY?

To balance purpose & play.

To navigate beauty for the sake of beauty with communication & connection & intention.

To dance with fun & play alongside focused, sacred purpose

💖Maybe my superpower is just being willing to be a vessel for flow & creativity & divine connection.

While also being flawed & human and surrendering anyway.

💖Your creative practice allows you to see all of this.

Seeing flaws as superpowers.

Seeing beauty in the mess.

Seeing clarity in the fog

Seeing how to dance with duality & contrast

Seeing how it all fits in a bigger picture.

Where the mess is actually what gives the masterpiece its rich depth in meaning.

Learning to lean into discomfort to dig up new gems of self-awareness and self-care

Using your experiments with new ways of making art as practice to face fear in an uncertain world right now.

While you can do a workshop to learn how to knit a scarf… Or a small course on painting with ink… Or attend a writing retreat or get mentored in how to create videos for Tiktok…

You don’t actually get to dive deeper into YOUR flavour of creative superpowers

They are helpful for a specific skill or moment in time… but you don’t get to intentionally translate lessons to other forms of creativity. The creative flow evaporates as soon as it’s over.

It only re-iterates that creative work requires setting everything aside. It requires pushing pause on life.

I believe you can do better.

You can find those moments of deep connection amidst the busy of life

You can find creativity flowing with laundry and chores and homeschooling

You can immerse in your creativity in the mundane as well as the miraculous

You can create for frivolity as well as for fulfilment.

You can create intentional pauses to listen to inspiration AND still keep life moving and flowing.

It’s a dance. It’s a relationship. It’s an experience and an intentional decision
