I have a whole system now for my artwork
To make them / To release them / To sell them / To promote them / To ensure my brand feels elegant & elevated
But when I first started I made the mistake of thinking I needed to set up these systems
That I needed to spend SO MUCH money and worse, TIME on things that just wasn’t important.
Like getting the perfect website
Learning about funnels ?!?
Learning about marketing campaigns & social media hacks
Learning about sophisticated automations and email systems
These aren’t bad things... they're probably not really needed (another conversation for another day) ...
The point is that they weren't important...YET
Yet!
That’s the distinction!
When you're just starting and looking to find your first clients or customers - you’re still working out the answers to foundational questions like:
What kind of art am I making? What is it that I offer beyond just the thing I'm selling?
How do I get it TO my customer?

It’s totally ok to not have all the fancy bells and whistles — to look * gasp * like a beginner
It’s totally ok to just step forward with a social media account, a committed heart and a curious mind to dig deeper for clarity with each step FORWARD
The commitment to step forward will help you find those answers.
The willingness to embrace the messy & imperfect will help you move forward steadily

I am still flawed. I just use my quirks as MY flavour of superpowers.
The only thing I was missing was the confidence to BELIEVE in my work & my decisions. To stay in one strategy long enough to see it work. To give the process a chance to succeed!
The only thing I was wrong about was to think THAT (lack of perfect & fancy systems & strategies) was the reason for me not getting to my goals.
It was the distraction of fancy.
Of too much isolation & listening to the wrong voices (the inner critic isn’t very imaginative)
