GENIUS, POWER AND MAGIC
I cannot wait to share with you all the things I've been working on. Meaning, more art to make your screens, home & life beautiful and inspired spaces. For now, I have a new wallpaper for you!
I still feel like I am recovering from Finders Keepers Market!
Even though it was several weeks ago, it's one of those things that feels like a lifetime ago which happened like just 2 seconds ago.
You know what I mean? (See! I'm still recovering)
thank you so much to those of you who came by!
I underestimated how much I would enjoy the face to face feedback with you. It can be a bit isolating just typing into a screen, imagining our conversation with imaginary cups of coffees and imaginary nodding of heads.
It was so nice to see actual smiles and to share my art with you in person.
Keep an eye out for when I upload some images behind the scenes from the market on the blog next week. (see the photo above of my special visitor & stall setup. Indigo loved visiting mama at 'work')
NEW WALLPAPER - WHATEVER YOU CAN DO OR DREAM
After the market, I took a moment to reflect on the success of it.
Not just in sales & connections made but really, the confidence it gave me that I was able to do this because I HAD JUST DONE IT!
It brought to mind this quote:
"Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way."
I learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets:
WHATEVER YOU CAN DO OR DREAM YOU CAN, BEGIN IT.
BOLDNESS HAS GENIUS, POWER AND MAGIC IN IT!"
~ W.H MURRAY
Honestly, I didn't think I was 'ready' to do a market yet but I bit the bullet and convinced a friend to join me. I knew I needed the accountability, and involving a friend meant I truly committed.
We weren't even sure if we would be accepted but once we got the 'Yes!' we just went with it.
We had to work out stall set up, select artwork for displays and inventory of products and just general logistics of getting there on the day! None of which either of us had any experience in.
It is SO true!
When you just step right into it, things just keep rolling and you find a way and MAKE IT HAPPEN.
We put together our (genius!) setup & display solutions from items found around our home & logistics came together really easily thanks to friends and family. The pieces really fell into place without much drama.
Plus the spirit of adventure and FUN Steve & I had going into it, made all the 'problems' we encountered become lessons to learn from for next time. (Yup! I want to do it again!)
So I had to use this quote for this month's artwork.
I hope as always, my story and artwork will be a beautiful encouragement for whatever you're dreaming and working on.
